In architecture, drawing is how one thinks. The drawings shown here have all been done by hand, because while the advantages of digital technology are obvious - even necessary - in the practice of architecture today, we feel that the type of thinking and attention engendered through drawings done lovingly by hand is equally indispensable for making good buildings. Sometimes a drawing is about buildings as they are, sometimes about how we’d like them to be. We’ve selected these drawings, among the many, many drawings we’ve made over the years, because they seem to us to be a little bit about both of those things.
